Ca' Toga Venetian Tower Wine Cooler
The cooler is illustrated with a drawing that transforms it to a scene from Marchiori's native Venice. It takes the form of a brick tower with Venetian Gothic arches and playful Pulcinella figures, a character from the 17th century Commedia dell'Arte. The character engages in aspects of winemaking, from carting to tasting, while a woman in 18th century costume peers longingly from an upper window. The drawing includes delightful architectural details including the Lion of San Marco, ornate balustrades, and Venetian style finials.
